You may be interested in the forthcoming Guitar Day at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
At the RWCMD weekly individual lessons are supplemented by a programme of visiting artists giving concerts and classes, last year’s including John Williams, Sean Shibe, Mark Eden, Chris Stell, Gary Ryan, Ian Watt, Gerald Garcia and Richard Wright.
Idiomatic general musicianship classes include the opportunity to study figured bass on baroque guitar and theorbo – vital diversification in the modern music business
A very active touring guitar ensemble gives up to 12 public performances per year. Recent performances have included the Berkshire Maestros Guitar Festival, Cardiff, Swansea and Bristol Guitar Societies and the Dora Stoutzker Hall.
The college possesses a collection of guitars available for loan to students including a baroque guitar, vihuela, romantic guitar, requinto, octave bass guitar, lute and theorbo.
